When connecting a digital camera or a camcorder,
you can get into different situations:
In case you have older devices that are not
supported, you have to install drivers and supporting SW (e. g. Olympus 2100).
In case you have a digital camera fitting
the USB Storage Class standard, a dialog called "Autorun" will
be run. In this dialog you specify what you are going to do with your
files. Together with it, the memory will be accessed under some
unengaged letter as in case of a network disk.
Then, you can work with the data as with common files and to copy them
by help of a file manager.
In case you have a digital camcorder, everything
depends on the mode in which it is used (photographing or recording and
playing video). Here, the same guide as in case of digital cameras or
the Movie maker for getting video will be run.
According to the type of device, a letter
representing the device (I have experience with a camera Olympus C2), or
a description of digital camera will be displayed (e. g. Panasonic DV Camcoder).
In the following step you choose photos for
transferring into your computer. Pictures from digital camera will be
all displayed; records from a digital camcorder can be only displayed as
images you select or as the currently being taken image.

An option for determining the destination folder for your images follows.
Transfer status is displayed by graphic indication and image preview.
In the last step you decide if you want to go on working with the images.
